Policy influence

Policy influence forms one of the most defining and strategic activities of LNVH. LNVH has a structural role as critical ally: LNVH identifies structural bottlenecks, supports institutions in policy development, and safeguards continuity of focus on gender equality. The LNVH dialogue brings governance, HR policy, and the work floor closer together, leading to more workable and consistent policy on career progression, remuneration, social safety, and talent development.

Women Professors Monitor

The Women Professors Monitor is one of LNVH’s most visible core products. Within the Netherlands, the Monitor is regarded as the central, authoritative instrument for systematically collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data on gender relations within the academic community. It is a complex and extensive annual project, in which diverse datasets are brought together, enriched, and made accessible to administrators, policymakers, researchers, and the media. Due to the continuous growth of the Monitor – including through the addition of new indicators, more extensive classifications, and the expansion to international origin data and, later, data from NWO and KNAW institutes – the resources and work required increased substantially.

Other publications

LNVH initiates targeted, large-scale, and methodologically rigorous studies on themes directly related to gender equality, social safety, and career development in Dutch academia. These studies are essential not only for clearly mapping current issues, but also for providing policymakers, administrators, and institutions with evidence-based insights and recommendations that are directly applicable within the Dutch academic context.
