Publications & Tools
Making academia more equal and inclusive requires both evidence and action. The LNVH develops publications and tools that support this work at every level. From the researcher reflecting on their own experience to the board member shaping institutional policy. Grounded in data and independent research, our work maps where things stand, investigates what drives inequality, and provides practical guidance for those working to change it. Our publications are used in performance reviews, policy discussions, team meetings, and strategic planning. Whether you are looking for the latest figures on women professors, evidence-based research on structural barriers, or a tool to open up a conversation in your team.
Each year, the LNVH publishes the Monitor: the definitive source for data on women professors at Dutch universities. The Monitor tracks progress across institutions and disciplines, making the figures visible and the gaps undeniable. The 2025 edition reports 29.9% women professors nationwide.
How do you talk about psychological safety in your team, and who starts that conversation? These Conversation Cards offer structured prompts for personal reflection, one-on-one conversations, group discussions, and first-response situations. Grounded in the KNAW advisory report on social safety in Dutch academia.
The LNVH commissions and publishes in-depth research on the position of women in Dutch academia. Reports cover topics including barriers to progression, hidden pay gaps, social safety, and access to leadership roles. Together, they build the evidence base for structural change across Dutch universities.
